Praise God for the start of the semester for Bond Christian Students at Bond University, Gold Coast: growth from 25 people last year to 45 people so far this year, with newcomers attending regularly.
Pray University of Southern Queensland Christian Students and that students would grow in boldness to start conversations with peers about the gospel, about the Bible, and about Jesus.
Pray that following on from their Kick-on conference and O-Week Mission, Campus Bible Study at University of NSW will be able to welcome the new First Year students to uni well and reach many of them on campus with the life changing gospel.
Pray that as Curtin Christian Union, Curtin University, Perth grows, many First Year students will join and that CCU would grow in faith, godliness and love.
AFES Apprenticeships || Give thanks for new apprentices starting on campuses across Australia.
Pray for the Bible studies being held by the Notre Dame Bible Fellowship at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle; that they would continue to be a blessing for all who attend, point students towards Christ, and that attendance and engagement will remain high.
Pray for students at University of Wollongong Uni Bible Group as they open Genesis at their first public Bible talks on 4 and 5 March; that their eyes would be lifted to see God as worthy of their worship, and that they will joyfully and boldly proclaim Jesus and His gospel on campus to new classmates, First Years, international students, and to one another.
Pray for James Cook University, Townsville Christian Students’s Faculty Bible studies; that students, particularly First Years, would be excited to spend time in God’s word in their small groups and that they would continue to encourage each other through prayer for one another.
Pray for the Canberra Christian Society at Australian Catholic University, Canberra welcome afternoon tea on 5 March; that many will attend and be welcomed into CCS.
Pray for Evangelicals on Campus, at the Australian Catholic University, North Sydney; that many First Years will join EOC.
Pray for Ballarat Christians at Uni, at Federation University; that new and returning students will be connected with CU as they explore what uni has to offer and that they will come to know Christ.
Pray for Christian Union at Deakin University Burwood, Victoria as they welcome many new members; that they would feel welcomed and comfortable, and make long-lasting Christian friendships.
Pray for University of New England, Armidale Christians United as they run evangelistic Bible talks for the first few weeks of uni; that students will feel comfortable to come along and that as they look through Revelations, they will see the gospel through it and be encouraged.
Pray for the many students who serve in the Sydney University Evangelical Union and thank God that many have been willing to serve in countless ways; that they, in their service, whether it be as a small group leader or part of the IT team, hold fast to the gospel and godliness and have a heart for others, longing to see people turned to Christ.
Pray for the Monash Parkville CU following their recent orientation days; that they would be able to show the First Year students the love CU has for their campus and for Jesus.
Pray that in line with the AFES Mission statement we will together present students on our campuses mature in Jesus (by God’s strength).
Pray for University of Western Australia Christian Union leaders of small groups; that they would have strength and reliance on God as new small groups are formed and new dynamics need to be worked out.
Pray for IFES Eurasia and for those in sensitive countries seeking wisdom about how to meet and share their faith. Pray especially for an outreach event in April and for guidance towards forming a board and appointing a first staff worker. Pray that more churches will see and understand this ministry’s impact on campus, church, and society.
AFES FOCUS || Pray that international students connected during O-Weeks can be enfolded into their FOCUS groups, and come to trust in Christ or grow in Him.
Pray for BCU Fed Uni and their picnic at Lake Wendouree on 10 March, an opportunity for students to make new friends, and for CU to proclaim Christ; that the students would see the love of the greatest friend of all time, Jesus.
Pray for Monash University, Clayton’s Christian Union and FOCUS’s Base camp being held from 13-15 March. Pray for all the event preparation and that it will be a meaningful starting point for First Years to connect with the club and feel a sense of belonging, as well as be an encouragement to returning members.
Thank God for a successful preseason for Credo at the University of Technology Sydney, where they were able to connect with many First Years and new UTS students, and saw lots of older Credo members get involved to share Jesus on Campus
Pray for University Fellowship of Christians at the University of Tasmania, Launceston after the recent Engaging in Clubs and Society day; that more students will know about Jesus through the group.
Pray for University of Queensland Evangelical Students, Brisbane the incoming First Years; that they will feel welcomed and pray for a time of great time fellowship for their First Year Day Trip on 14 March.
Pray for the Christians at University at Australian Catholic University, Melbourne after the recent Orientation Day; that many will enroll into ACU CU, especially First Year students.
Pray that in line with AFES’ second value, we will constantly shape all our methods, our ministries, and our mission by the Scriptures.
Praise God for the 130 students that signed up to join Australian National University, Canberra FOCUS in O-Week; that they will continue to come to FOCUS events and grow in their faith whilst they are at university.
Pray for IFES South Pacific and for Mark, a recent graduate, and other students from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM): for guidance and opportunities as Mark explores future ministry opportunities on his home island of Pohnpei and for wisdom and boldness for young followers of Jesus in the FSM.
Pray for Sunshine Coast Christian Students at University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland; that the university community will get to know Jesus and be equipped to serve them and point people toward him
Pray for Monash Parkville Christian Union and their preparation for the start of semester; that they would be able to reach out to as many people as possible.
Pray for CU UNE Armidale as they get back into studying; that Christian students will have boldness to share Jesus with their friends, and that they will keep their eyes fixed on Jesus.
Pray that AFES will double our numbers offering themselves for Missionary Service.
Pray for Kick Off Camp being hosted by UniSQ and UniSC Christian Students from 20-22 March; that God’s word is taught well, that students grow in their love for Jesus, and that they would understand what living for Jesus at uni looks like.
Pray for the upcoming Getaway Camp for AFES groups in the ACT, being held from 20-22 March; that it will be a great way for First Years to build deep and godly friendships with other FOCUS students and that all students will be encouraged by the talks on 1 Corinthians 1- 4.
Pray for CBS at UNSW and for the international students on campus; that they would hear the gospel.
AFES Apprenticeships || Pray that AFES Apprentices will have opportunities to open the Word with students on campus and watch their lives and their doctrine as they are trained in gospel ministry.
Pray for UQES Brisbane: for a smooth transition to a smaller staff team, and for students and staff to feel rested after a long break. Pray for gospel-shaped leadership from the exec and student-led teams.
Pray for the ministries that are about to start up at CU and FOCUS Monash Uni Clayton: for the Gospel Communities (Bible Studies), Courses, Walk-Up (evangelism) and the new prayer meetings; that many people will be eager to take part in them consistently and that God may work through these ministries to grow the club’s vision and mission.
Pray that through the Easter stall being held from 23-25 March the NDBF UND Fremantle would be able to reach the people of the university with the good news and hope of the gospel.
Pray for First Years and other newcomers at the CU UWA Perth during the first few weeks of semester; that they would be keen to be involved in the CU and attend events.
Pray that AFES will double our reach in calling people to turn back to Jesus in repentance and faith.
Pray for Sunshine Coast CS; that they have servant hearts as they work alongside one another as a result of Jesus example.
Pray for Uni Fellowship Launceston: for wisdom for those leading Bible study groups this year focussing on the Book of Acts.
Pray that CCU Curtin Uni Perth would remain active in spreading Jesus on campus, training students to do that faithfully.
Pray for Melbourne University Christian Union Base Camp being held from 27-29 March: for many of First Years to attend and that they would feel welcomed into CU.
AFES FOCUS || Pray for their FOCUS National Strategy team planning FOCUS Staff training for their June Conference.
Pray for the ACUCU Melbourne camp being held from 27-29 March; that students new students may be able to come and join in fellowship.
Thank God that the CS JCU Townsville were able to go away for their ‘Kick Off Camp’ recently to read and learn from Philippians while also enjoying time together in God’s creation.
Pray that Getaway on 28 March will be a day of bonding and growing in knowledge of God for Bathurst CS CSU, both for the group and with Orange Christian Students.
Pray for a good relationships between EOC ACU North Sydney and all at ACU.
Pray that CCS ACU Canberra would be seen and known on the ACU campus so that they can share the love of Jesus with this community.
Pray for Jesus-Week at Melbourne Uni CU over the Easter week starting 30 March; that many student will hear the gospel, that CU students would be passionate about sharing the gospel with them and that through this, many would come to know Jesus.
Pray for Credo UTS that as grow groups kick off in the coming weeks they would be places that spur each other on in faith and encouragement, particularly that these would be places where First Years would feel welcome and connected.
Pray for CU Deakin Uni Burwood and the upcoming Base Camp; that many students would prioritise this opportunity to be taught and trained.
Pray for the Uni Fellowship Hobart as they seek to be more visible and approachable on campus; that God might raise up members willing to serve, granting them creativity and wisdom as they reflect on how to best use their finances, time and energy to proclaim the Gospel of Christ both widely and clearly.
Pray for the EU Sydney Uni staff who work along side the students and thank God for his generous provision in this staff and student partnership; that all at EU will conduct themselves in a manner worthy of the gospel they profess and that God will provide them dedication, wisdom and love in their service.
